Description: Photo of the ceiling of a rondaval, e.g., see PHIL ID# 6302, during a 1975 CDC South African Marburg virus investigation. Two travelers, i.e., Marburg cases #1 and #2, stayed in a nearby campground close to Victoria Falls while traveling through Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. CDC epidemiologists searched for animal evidence in rondavals, i.e., huts, but nothing was found. This image was created in 1975 and provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Dr. J. Lyle Conrad.
