Description: This Bed Isolators, produced by Vickers Medical Ltd., was on display in 1977 at the CDC. Isolation units like this one was used at Brooks Air Force Base in Houston, Texas. Isolation units are aircraft transportable and isolate a patient placed inside from the external environment. Lower end isolator units were used in the Ebola outbreak in Zaire, 1976, to assist in the containment of the virus. This image was provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
