Approaching High tide in winter at Wells-Next-the-Sea, Norfolk. With the sun going down behind the photographer it allows some subtle but none the less beautiful colours to be cast across the water. The beach area extends for almost a mile out to sea and the water creeps fairly rapidly over the flat area before hitting the beach proper. Many people have been cut off and left high and dry on the sand dunes to wait out the retreat of the tide.
