The Himalayan poppy is one of the most spectacular poppies in the world. I grew these poppies in my garden for a short time and it was always a thrill when the first shoots appeared in spring. They grow quite tall and are easily damaged in high winds. Like most other poppies they are very delicate and photographing them has to be done where they grow which often involves some form of wind break being constructed.
