The Italian city of Florence (Firenze) is the capital of Tuscany and a major centre for business and tourism. The Piazza della Signoria contains the Palazzo Vecchio (literally “Old Palace”) and the Loggia della Signoria (also called the Loggia dei Lanzi). The loggia and the piazza are a magnificent showcase for sculpture. This is a copy of Michelangelo’s famous "David" which stands in the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts.
