Due to the progressive vaccinia this patient required a graft in order to correct the necrotic vaccination site.

What is know referred to as progressive vaccinia, vaccinia gangrenosum is one of the most severe complications of smallpox vaccination, and it’s almost always life threatening. Those who are most susceptible to this condition are the immunosuppressed.
